بدأنا في الأسبوع الماضي لعرض بعض
 الظواهر في تاريخ الأكاديميا الأردنية اليوم نحن أمام ظاهرة فريدة في كثير من صفاتها فهو الرجل الصارم وصاحب القرارات الحاسمة وصاحب الكلمة التي لا تصبح اثنتين أنه أكاديمي ورئيس الجامعة الأردنية الأسبق وليد المعاني 

لا يختلف اثنين في الوسط الأكاديمي على أن المعاني قيادي من الطراز الرفيع فهو من القلائل الذين يتفردون بميزة صنع القرار واتخاذه دون تردد مهما كانت العواقب . وما يميز تلك القرارات أنها تكون مبينة على تفكير عميق فالرجل عند توليه للمهام لا يهدأ ولا

حين تتأمل مشهد الوطن؛ المكان والانسان تقفز أمامك المشاهد الواحد تلو الآخر، تجد بينهما ما يستحق النسيان، غير انك حين ترسم بقلمك صورة قلمية لبعض هؤلاء تشدك الذاكرة لأشياء خاصة ودقيقة هي منبع الأفكار التي تحمل القلم لرسم أجمل الألفاظ، تعبر شاطئ الحروف، تأخذ منها ما يناسب الرحلة والألوان، تَعبُ فيها خطوط الزمن؛ نهاراته البعيدة، ولياليه القريبة، تأخذك الرحلة طويلاً حين تقف بين الحرف والحرف، وبين الكلمة والأخرى، تجدك مطوقاً بالأسئلة، محاطاً بالأشواك والسلاسل، وأنت مقيد بشهوة الروح التي تبذل المستحيل لرسم أنفاسها وهي ترنو الى الزمن الأكاديمي الراقي الواعي لتفاصيل الأكاديميا، والذي يجب أن تعترف بطيب هوائه وبنسمات أفكاره، بالاذكياء منهم والأغبياء، بالوطنيين والأحرار، والمدعين والأشرار، بكل هؤلاء حيث لا تستطيع الصور ان تعود الى الأمام دون أن تركب القطار محطة محطة، تقف في كل واحدة منها تعيش لحظاتها لحظة لحظة، فتعرف أنّ المستحيل ليس مستحيلاً، وأن العقل الذكي لا يقبل المستحيل وان كانت الأشواك جبالامن    التعب والغضب...

Reform needs reformers.

People think that being a Minister gives you extreme power to do what you want. They are mistaken. The power lies within the bureaucracy of the institution. Even reform itself takes a long time and will not happen overnight. You need people within the institution to believe in reform so it will succeed, after all they have to carry it out. If reform is against their interests they will not support it. In matter of fact if the people working in the institution will not support what you believe as reform it will fail. You need the administration which follows you to believe in the same reform track otherwise they will change direction. So usually people are afraid of the future, but most comfortable with the present, because they know it and know how to deal with it. Any change may deprive them of interests or gains whatever they were. 

THE CRACKED POT: TO THE BLIND AMONG US

An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck. 

One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.

At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full..

For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water.

Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments. 

But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.

After two years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream. 

'I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.'

The old woman smiled, 'Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?' 

'That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them.'

For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. 

Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house.'

Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. 

You've just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.

SO, to all of my cracked pot friends, have a great day and remember to smell the flowers on your side of the path!

معيار القبول في الجامعات الأردنية الرسمية

تعيش غالبية الأسر الأردنية والتي لديها أبناء على مقاعد الصف الأخير من المرحلة الثانوية ( التوجيهي) عاماً من التوتر والقلق،فامتحان شهادة الدراسة الثانوية العامة يمثل كابوساً مرعباً يسيطر على الطلبة وأولياء أمورهم على حد سواء ،وتبدل هذه الأسر أقصى جهودها في محاصرة أبنائها وحثهم بكافة الوسائل للدراسة على مدار الساعة وبذل أقصى ما يستطيعون والاستعداد الكامل لمواجهة هذا الامتحان.

آلية القبول في الجامعات الأردنية الرسمية

إن اختيار آلية مناسبة لتنفيذ عملية القبول في الجامعات الأردنية الرسمية يعتمد في الأساس على طبيعة عنصرين أساسيين هما :-

1- أسس القبول التي تحدد القواعد التي تحكم عمليات القبول،والتي تتضمن الشروط العامة للالتحاق في تخصصات الجامعات المختلفة، والتي تحدد ايضاً فئات من الطلبة يمكن قبولهم في هذه الجامعات .

2- معيار القبول المعتمد للمفاضلة بين الطلبة،والذي يستند عليه في تقرير من هم الطلبة الذين يمكن قبولهم في جامعات / تخصصات معينة .

وعليه فالآلية التي يمكن اتباعها لتنفيذ عمليات القبول في الجامعات الأردنية الرسمية لا يمكن أن تكون خارج أحد البديلين التاليين :-

القبول الجامعي خارج الأطر ورغما عن وزارة التعليم العالي

أوردت جريدة الرأي الغراء في عددها الصادر اليوم الجمعة أن أحدى الجامعات تقوم بقبول طلبة بمعدل اقل من 60%

تقول الوزارة في بيان اصدرته بأنها علمت « أن هنالك إحدى الجامعات الأردنية تقوم بتسجيل الطلبة من حملة الثانوية العامة بمعدلات تقل عن (60%) وذلك خلافا لأسس قبول الطلبة في الجامعات الأردنية للعام الدراسي 2012/2013 التي اقرها مجلس التعليم العالي،علماً بأن الوزارة لن تقوم بالتصديق على الشهادات الصادرة عن تلك الجامعة خلافا للأسس أعلاه. لذا فإن الوزارة تهيب بأبنائها الطلبة التأكد من تحقيقهم لأسس القبول قبل التحاقهم بأي جامعة».

وحذرت الوزارة في بيان اصدرته على موقعها الالكتروني من انها «لن تقوم بالتصديق على الشهادات الصادرة عن تلك الجامعة»، داعية الطلبة التأكد من تحقيقهم لأسس القبول قبل التحاقهم بأي جامعة.

الحقيقة أن هذه كارثة بكل المقاييس، أولا ان تتغاضى الوزارة عن المخالفة وتكتفي بتحذير الطلاب وتحميلهم المسؤولية، وثانيا أن يبقى اسم الجامعة مغفلا. فإن كانت الوزارة متأكدة للدرجة التي اصدرت فيها بيانها، فعلى الوزارة منع الجامعة من الإستمرار في غيها وإيقاف القبول فيها بناء على التنسيبات اللازمة من الجهات المعنية 

أطالب بإعلان اسم هذة الجامعة ومنع الطلبة من التسجيل فيها واإيقاف القبول فيها. ولا يجوز لأحد أن يتخلى عن مسؤوليته ويحملها للطلبة.

COMMENTS ON CHRISTIAN CARYL PIECE IN FOREIGN POLICY

I just love it when the facts are twisted. So according to CHRISTIAN CARYL @ccaryl in @ForeignPolicy "The king responded by dissolving parliament and appointing a new prime minister. But the Islamists say that they're boycotting the next election, scheduled for January 23".

I am not surprised at statements like this since @ForeignPolicy it self reports that:  "Nearly 25 percent of Americans don't know that the United States declared its independence from Great Britain, according to a 2011 Marist poll" and also reports: "88 percent of young Americans couldn't find Afghanistan on a map, 75 percent couldn't locate Iran or Israel, and 63 percent couldn't identify Iraq, according to a 2006 Roper Public Affairs/National Geographic Society poll". So then perhaps he was playing to the ears of the a/m.

HM The king did not dissolve parliament because of the Oct 5th demonstration by the MB, nor did he appoint another PM for that reason, but I am sure the writer knows, the Jordanian constitution (amended last year for this reason) demands that. New elections were on the cards: talked about day and night, for more than a year. A new law must be enacted, followed by early elections. Dissolution of parliament must be done on recommendation from the Prime Minister. The PM who recommends dissolving parliament to HM the King must resign within a week from the dissolution. The new PM (current now) will hold the elections and once a new parliament sits; he must resign paving the way for a PM from inside parliament hopefully to stay 4 years. The MB did not boycott after the Oct 5th demos. It did that long time before, even at the time of the former PM Khasawneh who seemed to offer them concessions beyond their dreams.

Anyway, there is also the continued talk about the "Beduins" and the "City dwellers", which reminds me of the narrative of the Orientalists of past (the inhabitants of Jordan are Palestinians and Beduins!!!), and surprisingly enough he did not see any of the latter when he strolled the streets near the Intercon. Hotel.

The MB could not entice many Palestinians into their demos. The elections will go on without them, voter registration was nearly 70% (close to the US presidential percentage), a lot of work has to be done on the stability of the economy and the budget deficit. A solution must be found for the soaring cost of energy...and the national debt. Balanced reporting should not be made on impressions, even for a known writer with connections to the MIT center for International Studies, the New York review and FP.

الخريف الإنساني

لم يعد لي اصدقاء يزوروني،

ولا أدعي لوليمة او عرس،

وليس لي شلة العب معهم الورق في مقهى قديم،

حتى يتذكرني احدهم ان غبت ويسأل عني.

لا اتنقل من مقعدي الا لماما،

واراقب نفس الأحداث على شاشة نفس التلفاز ولكن بوجوه مختلفة.

  الشباب والمشاركة السياسية

  إن نضج الشباب يتطلب أولاً تزايد مشاركتهم السياسية كما يراها 
 المفكرون منذ أفلاطون القائل "إن إحدى عقوبات عدم اشتراك الفرد في 
 السياسة أن يحكمه من هم دونه". فالمشاركة السياسية ما زالت إحدى أهم
 وسائل نجاح الديمقراطية، وعلينا أن نذكر أنفسنا، امتثالا لهذا القول،
 أن ابتعادنا ونأينا بأنفسنا عن الشأن العام هو الذي أفضى إلى الحالة التي
 عشناها خلال العقدين الماضيين، والتي  ما زلنا نلحظ ضعفها يوماً بعد 
 يوم، والتي تفرض علينا أن نعمل جميعا لاصلاحها.

إني لا أبرىء النظام التربوي المعمول به بدءا من المدرسة وانتهاء بالجامعة من بعض المسؤولية نظرا لعدم تركيزه على تنشئة الجيل الذي يتعامل معه على الولاء والانتماء للوطن، وعلى احترام حقوق الإنسان وتقبل الرأي الآخر وتعميق مفهوم الحوار بدل اللجوء للعنف، ولا على الدفع باتجاه المشاركة الايجابية الفاعلة على الرغم من أن جيل الشباب يشكل أكثر من ثلثي المجتمع، وتنشئته تنشئة اجتماعية سياسية صالحة في الحياة الديمقراطية في الأردن مهمة الجامعة قبل غيرها، لكن الجامعات ما زالت تؤمن أكثر بدورها التعليمي المباشر بعيدا عن غيره من الأدوار.

وفي مواجهة ذلك يتطلب الأمر إعداد منهج ذي رؤية إصلاحية لتجاوز ذلك الفشل وتحسين الأداء وتطويره، ولعلنا عند الأخذ بذلك نساهم في دعم المشاركة السياسية للمواطن ونرتقي بأداء المجلس والأحزاب السياسية على حد سواء.

لكن الدور الأهم يتطلب الآن أن نعمل معا على تعزيز المشاركة السياسية والاستفادة من الانفتاح الذي نحظى به في تدعيم هذه الثقافة وتهيئة المواطنين للمشاركة وتوعيتهم بحقوقهم الدستورية. الأمر الذي يؤدي إلى تفعيل الحياة السياسية من جهة، وتعزيز المساءلة والرقابة من جهة أخرى. إذ لا بد من تعزيز ثقافة تعظم المشاركة وتفعل دورها.

In democracy if you want to change a law, you have to do it thru parliament and to do that you have to be an MP, which doesn't happen if you boycott the elections.

As long as there are people who don't want to understand that monopolizing truth is not acceptable, then dialogue will not occur

I like people when they TALK Pantomime and not ACT Pantomime, It doesn't take a lot of intelligence to decipher the rhetoric

Life is give and take. Don't expect to take all the time. Remember you have to give some time and if you don't do that, nobody will stay around you.

@ian_black I like your comment, I think it is fair.

The comment of Mrs Faisal about the timing being wrong is out of place, perhaps she was not fully aware of the constitutional requirements following the amendments.
